❤️Love That Looks Like Jesus❤️
"Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves." - Romans 12:9-10
Real love isn't just a feeling—it’s a choice. A way of life. And Paul calls us to a love that goes beyond surface-level kindness. He's talking about love that's real, intentional, and grounded in God's goodness. This kind of love doesn't wear a mask. It doesn't pretend or pick and choose who is "worthy." It simply loves—without strings attached. It sees people the way Jesus does and responds with compassion, grace, and humility. We're also reminded to hate what is evil—not people, not situations, but the things that pull us away from each other. Whether it's bitterness, gossip, selfishness, or pride, we're called to let those things go and instead cling to what is good. That means holding on tightly to truth, mercy, forgiveness, and the things that build others up. Being devoted to one another in love is all about consistency. It means showing up for people. It's calling when they're struggling, forgiving when they fall short, and celebrating their wins without comparison or jealousy. It's being there even when it's inconvenient. And finally, Paul encourages us to honor others above ourselves. In a world that constantly says, "look out for number one," this is a powerful reminder to live differently. It's about choosing humility. Serving without needing the spotlight. Valuing others, not just in words, but in action.
📖Reflection:
- Am I loving sincerely or just out of habit?
- What "good" do I need to cling to more tightly right now?
- How can I show devotion to someone in my life today?
- Who can I honor this week just because they matter?
🙏Prayer:
Father, teach me to love like You do. Help me to live with sincerity, not just in what I say but in how I treat others. Show me what is good and give me the courage to hold onto it. Help me to put others before myself, not for recognition but because You've called me to a higher way of living. Use me to be a reflection of Your love today. In Jesus' name, Amen.
